Annual Parish Meeting - 30-04-2026
Annual Parish Meeting – Summary
The Annual Parish Meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the past year, recognise outstanding contributions within the community, and engage residents in open discussion.
The meeting opened with a welcome from Cllr Nikki Hamilton‑Street, who outlined a number of Angmering Parish Council’s key achievements over the year. This was followed by a public questions session, allowing residents to raise matters of interest and speak directly with councillors.
The Council was pleased to welcome Beccy Cooper MP, who presented this year’s community awards before taking part in a question‑and‑answer session. Residents were given the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns, which Beccy addressed thoughtfully and constructively.
Community Awards
This year’s award presentations highlighted the dedication, service and community spirit shown by individuals and groups throughout Angmering.
- Fred Rowley Award
Angela Colliss accepted the award on behalf of herself and the Protect Farmland West of Bewley Road group. Her speech reflected the determination, teamwork and strong sense of community shown during their campaign. - Alison Reigate Award
Freda Smith was recognised for her long‑standing commitment and service to the village. In characteristic modesty, she described her contribution as “just doing her job,” a sentiment that was warmly received by those in attendance. - Young Volunteer of the Year
The Sunday Roast Serving Team were awarded Young Volunteer of the Year in recognition of their ongoing support for the monthly community meals at St Margaret’s Church.
Congratulations to Evie Latham, Mabel Cresswell, Charlie Knox, Isobel Knox, Sophie Ball and Ethan Ball, whose kindness and dedication continue to make a meaningful difference. - Volunteer of the Year
Bridget, David and Nancy were named Volunteers of the Year for their regular litter‑picking efforts around the village. Bridget and David were delighted to receive the award, with Nancy accompanying them and behaving impeccably throughout.
Charity Presentations
The meeting also included updates from two local charities.
WADARS, the Parish Council’s Charity of the Year for the previous year, were presented with a cheque for £3,174.82, raised through the generosity of residents and parish events.
Attendees then heard from Littlehampton Community Fridge, the Council’s Charity of the Year, who shared information about their ongoing work supporting local people.
