Bewley Road Appeal Update

We are saddened to share that the Planning Inspector has allowed Gleeson Land’s appeal against Arun District Council’s refusal of their application to build 190 homes on farmland west of Bewley Road. This means the development will proceed, despite nearly 1,800 objections and months of campaigning by local residents.

The Angmering Community Alliance, formed by Angmering Parish Council and the Protect Farmland West of Bewley Road group, worked tirelessly to present evidence at the public inquiry with the help of our legal team.

This is not the outcome we hoped for, but we want to thank everyone who donated, attended meetings, and spoke up for our village. Your efforts showed the strength of our community and our commitment to protecting Angmering.

We will continue to monitor the next steps and keep you informed about how this development will be managed.
