Angmering Parish Council has invested in a new moveable Speed Indicator Device (SID) to help improve road safety in the village. The device is designed to remind drivers of the speed limit and encourage safer driving habits by displaying happy/sad faces clearly as cars approach.

The SID will rotate between three key locations: Water Lane, Station Road, and Downs Way. These sites have been agreed with West Sussex County Council (WSCC) as the most suitable positions to help address concerns about speeding raised by residents.

By moving the device regularly between these sites, the Parish Council aims to raise awareness across the village and reduce speeding in multiple areas rather than focusing on just one location. More sites maybe added in the future, subject to confirmation by WSCC.

The Parish Council will also be monitoring the data collected by the SID to better understand traffic patterns and speeds, which may help guide future road safety initiatives in Angmering.
