This years Parish Assembly was held at St Margaret's Church Hall, Angmering on 25 May 2023.

Councillors and staff welcomed Katy Bourne as guest speaker for the event along with Chair of East Preston Parish Council, WSCC Cllr. Deborah Urquhart, District Councillor for Angmering Amelia Worne, Cllr Amanda Worne, some of last years award winners, this years award winners and residents of Angmering.

Our stall contained information about upcoming events, volunteering opportunities, information about the Angmering Community Network, local development information, various booklets and information cards as well as a raffle in aid of Sid Youth and a screen displaying the achievements of APC in the last year.

The evening started with a warm welcome from our Chair Cllr. Nikki Hamilton-Street. She advised those present of what the council had been working on, advised everyone that APC are looking for councillors and thanked everyone for their support. After introducing the APC councillors to everyone she took questions - with Katy Bourne on hand to cover a few of the responses.

Nikki then handed over to Katy Bourne who spoke about police initiatives and how they affect Angmering. More questions were then asked including topics such as ASB, antisocial driving and E-scooters.

Nikki and Katy Bourne then presented the awards. This year The Fred Rowley Award went to Neil Rogers-Davis for his outstanding contribution to life in Angmering. His knowledge of the history of Angmering is much admired and his vault of photos make welcome viewing on Facebook. The award was presented by Katy Bourne.

Next up was the award for Young Volunteer of the Year and this year it went to the Angmering School and their Sports Leaders Team which consisted of Matthew Lehmann, Finlay Cairns, Evie Simmons, Celia Penney, Maeve Kerrison and Millie Dynan. The students explained that they give up their time to help enable children from local primary schools to take part in sporting events throughout the year. Daniel Jenner from the Angmering School then explained how he could not do his job without the help of these amazing students. The awards were presented by Katy Bourne.

The formal part of the meeting then came to an end and refreshments were served.

Thank you to all who attended and to the councillors and staff for your hard work.

We look forward to another successful year.
