Jack Gocher
Councillor
What part of the village do you live in?
Swanbourne Park
What is your background?
For the past 30 years, I have run a PR and marketing business. This experience has equipped me with essential skills in strategic planning, public representation, and effective communication, which I hope will help me serve effectively as a councillor. Beyond my core business, I have actively engaged with education and youth development, having operated a Forest School business and served as a youth worker and school governor. This varied background gives me a balanced view of both commercial and community-focused priorities.
What made you become a councillor?
I have always enjoyed being involved in events and activities that help to bring communities together. I believe a vibrant village is built on shared experiences and strong local networks. Becoming a councillor offers the platform to support and initiate these activities, ensuring our village remains a welcoming and inclusive place for all residents.
What do you hope to achieve in the area during your time as a councillor?
My primary goal is to ensure the village is well represented and robustly supported by both the parish and larger district and county councils, as well as by the community itself. Specifically, I hope to dedicate my efforts to keeping our village a safe, attractive, and vibrant place to live. This means working hard on initiatives that preserve our green spaces, encourage community cohesion, and support local events that maintain the unique character and vitality of our community.
What are your other interests?
I have a strong interest in most sports. I am an avid football fan and Brighton supporter. I also enjoy attending live music concerts, theatre and walking.
